Positives … Determined athlete who has the intensity and all-out effort level to be adequate stacking up the inside ground game … Shows determination to get to the ball and is a decent wrap-up tackler who uses proper arm extension and leg drive to deliver his hits … Adequate blitzer who is does a decent job of delivering a crunching hand jolt to tight ends in the short area … Meets ball carriers with force when filling the inside rush lanes … Is best making plays in the short area, showing good hustle in pursuit.

Negatives … Lacks classic power you look for in a middle linebacker … Flashes straight line speed, but rarely plays fast … Despite his timed speed, he is not a sudden athlete, and has to gather on contact … Plays with little explosion and is generally the recipient of the blow on contact … Lacks the quickness to get off blocks, and gets washed past the ball often … Needs to do a better job of stepping up and blowing up the lead blocker … Instead, he catches the block, and gets ridden out … Has little change of direction agility working outside and can whiff in space … Will generally come out in passing situations, as he lacks the hip snap and lateral range to stay on coverage and buzz out in his drop … Unless he finds a clear lane, he can struggle to find the ball vs the run and looks unaware in when asked to handle assignments in the zone.
