2006 Season

Played in all 13 games, starting three … named one of the Lowe's Most Improved Defensive Players … helped UT give up only 61.2 yards rushing per game (third NCAA), 297.4 yards per game (22nd NCAA) and 18.3 points per game (26th NCAA) … the 61.2 yards rushing per game ranks second on UT's all-time list … tallied 21 tackles, eight TFL, three sacks, 11 pressures, three PBD, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble … recorded three tackles, including a sack, and a forced fumble that he recovered for a TD in the season opener against North Texas … notched a sack and a pressure against Iowa State.

Played in eight games at defensive end … recorded eight tackles, a TFL, a pressure and a PBD … part of a defense that ranked 10th nationally in total defense (302.9 ypg), eighth in scoring defense (16.4 ppg), eighth in passing defense (172.0 ypg) and 33rd in rushing defense (130.9 ypg) … opened his career with two tackles and a pressure against La.-Lafayette … added two tackles, including a TFL, versus Rice … posted two tackles at Missouri … recorded one tackle against No. 10 Texas Tech and Baylor … notched a PBD in the Big 12 Championship.

High School

Coached by Fred Romero at La Cueva High … three-year letterman at defensive end who was a Parade All-America selection … played in the 2005 U.S. Army All-America Bowl … also saw time at offensive tackle as a junior and split time between linebacker, fullback and tight end as a freshman … a two-time first-team all-state selection … had 238 tackles, 48.5 sacks, 153 pressures, six blocked punts, 10 PBDs, six fumble recoveries and four safeties in his career … named 2004 New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year … a first-team all-state selection as a senior.

Recorded 93 tackles, 17 sacks, three blocked punts, two PBDs, two safeties and two fumble recoveries, including one for a TD, that season … posted two sacks, nine tackles, one fumble recovery and 10 pressures his senior year versus Clovis … a first-team all-state selection at both defensive end and offensive tackle as a junior … set a state record with 25.5 sacks that season … also registered 89 tackles, five PBDs, one blocked punt, three fumble recoveries, one safety and two blocked kicks … led his team to a 13-0 record and the state 5A title in 2003 … was a state champion in the shot put as a junior and finished third in the discus.
