2011 Season
Tannehill set new single-season school records for yards (3,744), attempts (531) and completions (327) in 2011. He was a finalist for the Unitas Award and Campbell Trophy and semifinalist for the O'Brien Award this season. He also finished second on the school's single-season list in touchdown passes (29) and total offense (4,050). In his first full season at quarterback this year, Tannehill had six 300-yard passing games, including a 415-yard output against Baylor. Tannehill wrapped up his career at Texas A&M as the most accurate passer in school history, with a 62.5% completion percentage. He ranks sixth on the Aggies' all-time list in passing yards (5,450), fifth in touchdown passes (42), fifth in completions (484) and seventh in attempts (774). The Big Spring, Texas native will leave Texas A&M as perhaps the most versatile player in school history, having excelled at both quarterback and wide receiver. He is the only player in FBS history to post a 400-yard passing game and 200-yard receiving game. He is also the only player in FBS history to total more than 4,000 passing yards and 1,500 receiving yards in a career.
2010 Season
Earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors after taking over the quarterback position in mid-season and leading the Aggies to six straight wins (coming off the bench against Kansas) and a berth in the Cotton Bowl ... caught 11 passes for 143 and a score as a reserve receiver before starting the final six games at QB ... completed 65.0 percent of his passes (152-234) for 1,638 yards and 13 touchdowns against six interceptions ... ran for 76 yards and a touchdown, as well.
2009 Season
An honorable mention All-Big 12 selection by the league's head coaches ... appeared in all 13 games at wide receiver, and saw action in three (UAB, Oklahoma, Baylor) as quarterback ... was not only A&M's backup QB but is the Aggies' top active career receiver (1,453 yards, ranks seventh all-time) ... 36 of 46 catches (78 percent) were good for a first down or a touchdown ... caught two passes for 35 yards against Georgia in Independence Bowl (12/28) ... hauled in four balls for a team-high 40 yards and a score in win over Baylor (11/21) ... had second 100-yard receiving game of year and fourth of career at Colorado (11/7), reeling in nine balls for 100 yards ... caught six passes for 66 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas (10/3) ... recorded first 100-yard receiving game of season against UAB (9/26) ... finished the night with 101 yards on three receptions, including a 58-yard bomb that set up A&M's second score of the night ... caught five passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in win over Utah State (9/19) ... reeled in three passes for 40 yards against New Mexico (9/5) ... saw first action of year at quarterback against UAB, completing his only pass for eight yards ... a first-team academic All-Big 12 honoree ... an excellent student, has a career goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
2008 Season
Started the season battling for the starting quarterback spot but ultimate team player switched to receiver after fall camp... led the team and set Texas A&M freshman records in both receptions and receiving yards by hauling in 55 passes for 844 yards and five touchdowns ... best game came against Kansas State when he caught 12 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown ... also caught five passes for 104 yards and a touchdown against Texas Tech ... speedy receiver had 15 catches of 20+ yards ... of his 55 catches, 35 resulted in a first down ... voted Texas A&M's offensive MVP by his teammates ... earned honorable-mention Freshman All-America honors from College Football News ... excellent student was also honored as a first-team Academic All Big 12 selection.
