Latest News
09/07/2012 - It was only a matter of time before linebacker Dwayne Beckford's days on the Purdue football team were over. That happened last week when coach Danny Hope said Beckford has been dismissed following his fourth arrest in the last 14 months. "It became official (Wednesday)," Hope said. Beckford, who ranked second on the team in tackles in 2011, was arrested Monday -- one week after officers from West Lafayette were called to Beckford's apartment over a verbal argument with a female acquaintance. Asked when he became aware of Beckford's latest incident, Hope said: "I don't have my calendar with me but as soon as it happened a week ago. Hours after it happened." Beckford has been charged with five separate incidents in Tippecanoe County since June 2011. - The Sports Xchange
