Latest News
04/30/2012 - For their first nine seasons, the Texans knew Kris Brown was their kicker. Then they signed Neil Rackers to beat out Brown, who was cut in 2009. Rackers kicked in 2010 and 2011, scoring 124 points and a team-record 135 points. Last season, though, Rackers missed six field goals, three more than the previous season. The coaches seemed to lose confidence in him. They offered him the minimum salary to return, but he signed with Washington. That left them without a kicker on the roster. General manager Rick Smith used a fifth-round pick on Randy Bullock, who grew up in Klein, a Houston suburb, and kicked at Texas A&M. Special teams coordinator Joe Marciano scouted Bullock thoroughly at the Combine and at his Pro Day. They thought enough of him to take him in the fifth round rather than wait until the sixth and hope he was still on the board. - The Sports Xchange
