Finished second on the team with 73 tackles from his defensive tackle position, including 8.0 for loss and five sacks. Long, who had three games with 10 or more tackles this year, ranked second in the Mountain West among defensive lineman with 5.6 stops per game. He finished the season with career high-high marks in all major defensive categories en route to picking up his first career all-conference award with a second-team MW selection.

"(Team chairman) Clark Hunt asked us how many linemen we were going to draft in the last day," Pioli said with a smile. "We had five more picks, maybe five?
