Reid Fragel has played in all 39 games over the last three years, started in nine of them at tight end and wore jersey No. 88 ... this year, Reid will wear jersey No. 77 and he will play at right tackle ... he consulted with coaches and made the move before the start of spring ball, which gave him time to start gaining weight before spring drills, which he did ... he went from 280 pounds to 298 and hopes to play just over 300 this season ... although Reid was a fine tight end - he caught 14 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown in his career - he was always more comfortable blocking than running routes and at 6-8, he has the length, leverage and athleticism to develop into a fine blocker ... his task going forward is to master the position well enough to keep ahead of some talented underclassmen ... he's done it so far, coming out of spring drills listed as the team's starter at right tackle ... he is the only senior offensive lineman on the two-deep chart ... he played on special teams during the Buckeyes' 2009 Big Ten and Rose Bowl championship teams ... in 2010 and 2011 he saw tight end duty in every game ... he caught a five-yard touchdown pass in the 20-17 win at Iowa in 2010.
2012 Season
Fragel played in all 39 games between 2009-11 as a tight end, starting in nine of them wearing jersey No. 88 ... prior to his senior spring drills of 2012, he consulted with coaches and made the move to tackle and jersey No. 77 ... he went from 280 pounds to 298 and played his senior season just over 300 pounds ... he was outstanding at right tackle, starting all 12 games for the undefeated Buckeyes and earning honorable mention all-Big Ten honors ... he was invited to both the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine after the season ... he was such a pleasant surprise that coach Urban Meyer has decided from now on that any player who comes out of nowhere to shine will earn the "Reid Fragel Award" ... Reid was a fine tight end - he caught 14 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown in his career - but he was always more comfortable blocking than running routes and at 6-7, he has the length, leverage and athleticism to develop into a fine blocker, which he did ... Fragel was the only senior offensive lineman on the two-deep chart.

Saw action in every game as a tight end. Had five catches for 64 yards on the season.
2010 Season
Saw action in every game as a tight end. ... he caught a five-yard touchdown pass in the 20-17 win at Iowa in 2010. Had nine catches for 121 yards on the season.

High School
Grosse Pointe South's team MVP as a senior for coach Tim Brandon, earning all-state and O-D Bowl All-America status, and being named to the Detroit Free Press "dream team" ... also played basketball and competed in track and field.
