Career Notes
Line has totaled 4,114 yards rushing and 46 rushing TDs in his career, ranking sixth and third, respectively, among active players, and both marks are second-best in school history. His 4,715 career all-purpose yards are second all-time at SMU and his 276 career points are third. The Oxford, Mich., native is just the 11th player in school history to earn first-team all-league honors three times.
2012 Season
Line, who was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year this season, leads C-USA with 108 yards per game in league contests and is second in C-USA in rushing (100.6 ypg) in all games. He has 1,207 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns on the ground in 2012, and has added 32 receptions for 231 yards. He has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark three times and is just the second Mustang and the fourth player in C-USA history to reach that plateau in at least three seasons. He is the only Mustang with three 1,200-yard seasons.
2011 Season
Named first-team All-C-USA... Suffered a foot injury in the Navy game and missed the last three games of the season... Still led Conference USA and ranked seventh in the nation in rushing at 122.4 yards a game and 5.88 yards per rush... Posted eight 100-yard rushing games in 10 games played... Ranked ninth nationally and first in C-USA in scoring with 10.20 points per game... Set a school-record for rushing touchdowns in a game with five against Northwestern State.... Notched 17 rushing TDs on the year... Had 1,224 yards for the year... Also caught 15 passes for 139 yards... Named one of 10 Doak Walker Award semifinalists.
2010 Season
Played in all 14 games, starting 12... Named First Team Conference USA... Rushed for 1,494 yards (11th in the country), which only trails Eric Dickerson for most single-season rushing yards in SMU history... Averaged 6.1 yards per carry and scored 10 touchdowns... Caught 17 passes out of the backfield for 163 yards... Rushed for 122 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns against UAB... With 17 carries against TCU, totaled 139 yards a touchdown... Scored two touchdowns on 23 carries for 177 yards at Tulane... Had 106 yards against Houston... Notched a season-high 202 rushing yards and a score against Marshall... At East Carolina, tallied a pair of touchdowns and 123 yards... Rushed for 103 yards on 17 carries in the Armed Forces Bowl against Army.
2009 Season
Saw time in all 13 games, starting six... SMU's short-yardage back... Scored seven TDs on 49 carries... Rushed for a season-high 34 yards and two TDs against Navy... His two-rushing-TD performance was the first at SMU by a freshman since 2005... Had 189 yards rushing on the year and added 10 receptions for 68 yards...Enrolled at SMU in January as a grayshirt.

03/29/2013 - 2013 SMU Pro Day: Zach Line, RB (6-0 3/4, 230) - Line - who was at the combine - ran the 40-yard dash in 4.72 seconds against the wind and 4.62 seconds with the wind. He had a 33-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-9 broad jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.40 seconds and had a 7.12-second three-cone. He looked good in the positional workout, catching the ball well. Line was recommended to Jones by Detroit Lions senior vice president of communications Bill Keenist, whose son played high school football with Line in Oxford, Mich. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
