Compton, a native of Rosemount, Minn., completed a stellar career for the Coyotes as he earned first team All-America honors this season starting all 11 games for the Coyotes on the offensive line. Compton earned first team all-conference honors and was named Offensive Lineman of the Year by the Great West Conference Media. He was a PhilSteele.com fourth team All-America selection in 2010. He also was named to the Great West Conference All-Time Team as 2011 was the last year for football in the Great West Conference. The Coyotes are moving to the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2012. Compton anchored an offensive line that helped lead the Coyotes to 6-5 record in 2011, including a thrilling 30-17 win over then-No. 1 and defending national champion Eastern Washington in the DakotaDome Sept. 10. The offensive line paved the way for the Great West's second-ranked rushing offense (158.2) and the league's third passing offense (177.6).
