- Oklahoma RB Williams dismissed from team...Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said Monday that senior running back Damien Williams was dismissed from the team. Stoops did not specify why Williams was kicked off the team but the Oklahoman reported that Williams violated team rules. Williams and senior wide receiver Lecoltan Bester were both suspended from Saturday's game against the Kansas State, which the Sooners won. It was Williams' second suspension of the season. He also missed a game against Tulsa in September.
The Norman Transcript reported that Bester will return to the team this week. Williams is the team's second-leading rusher with 553 yards with a team-high seven rushing touchdowns and averages 4.9 yards per carry, despite playing in nine of 11 games. Oklahoma still has leading rusher Brennan Clay and senior backup Roy Finch in the backfield. - The Sports Xchange
