- Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Tuskegee will hold its Pro Day today at 1 p.m. at Cleve Abbot Stadium. Scouts from six NFL teams, a list that includes the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars, are scheduled to be in attendance. Nine players, a group headlined by conference Player of the Year running back Derrick Washington, a Missouri transfer, will work out.
Washington was one of eight finalists for the Harlon Hill Trophy award, the Division II equivalent to the Heisman. The 6-foot, 215-pounder rushed for 1,679 yards and 14 touchdowns in his only season in a Golden Tigers' uniform and played in the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic in Montgomery back in January along with teammate and first-team all-conference defensive back William Buford. - Nick Birdsong, Alabama Live
