- South Carolina CB Victor Hampton reportedly arrested...With ugly incidents off the field plaguing some of the NFL's most popular franchises in recent years, teams are dedicating more and more attention to character red-flags. On Monday, it was former Florida State running back James Wilder, Jr. who was making news for all the wrong reasons. Now, South Carolina cornerback Victor Hampton could be the latest to find out this fact. According to a report from Amanda C. Coyne of GoGamecocks.com, Hampton was arrested for disorderly conduct following a dispute with his sister April 6.
The report, which cites a spokeswoman for the Columbia Police Department, says that the potential NFL draft pick and his sister, Victoria, were "threatening each other, calling each other obscene names (and) using fighting words and stances." Hampton, a physical and athletic player who elected to give up his final year of eligibility to enter the draft early, was given a 3rd-4th round grade by NFLDraftScout.com. This news, as well as an average performance during the Combine and at his Pro Day, however, could push his stock deep into the third day of the draft. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
