NFLDraftScout.com provides a positional breakdown of team needs looking at the 2011 NFL Draft. Free agents listed are those expected to be unrestricted free agents based on the new rules in the Collective Bargaining Agreement which allow players with at least six accrued NFL seasons to become UFAs. The ratings, broken down by position for each team, will be updated frequently leading up to the draft and beyond. An explanation of what a rating number represents is listed at the bottom of each page. Copyright NFLDraftScout.com, distributed by The Sports Xchange

Notes
The Bears' offensive line improved at the end of the season, but Mike Martz woud prefer not to adjust his scheme to protect QB Jay Cutler. A high pick will be used on a tackle, another inside if free agent C Olin Kreutz does not return. One of the big receivers in this year's deep class would take some hits over the middle for Johnny Knox and Devin Hester. The defense is solid, as usual, but replacements may be needed at defensive tackle, outside linebacker, and safety if they lose veteran free agents.

Top 2010 Contract Players
C.C. Brown, STony Scheffler, TE
Notes
The Lions did not improve as much as expected this season, but still have a young nucleus of talent with which to work. The offensive line has not been as good as hoped, though, and the depth at most spots on defense - especially DE and LB -- is lacking. Their talent at cornerback is so bad, in fact, that multiple high picks could be used there. SS C.C. Brown is also a potential free agent.

Notes
Despite a laundry list of injuries, the Packers are still winning. Players have stepped up at SS, OLB, RB this year, but all three spots will be bolstered through the draft this year. Free agency is also looming at the offensive guard and defensive end positions. Chad Clifton won't last forever, either, so GM Ted Thompson must decide whether to pick another LT in this draft or move last year's first round pick, RT Bryan Bulaga.

Notes
The Vikings' 2010 season was symbolized by the MetroDome roof caving in after a heavy snow. They've replaced Brad Childress with DC Leslie Frazier (partially due to the Randy Moss trade/release debacle), WR Percy Harvin couldn't stay on the field due to migraines, QBs Brett Favre andTarvaris Jackson are not likely to return, and their defense is another year older and includes multiple free agents. A healthy WR Sidney Rice could help the team's new QB (plus an intriguing Joe Webb) in 2011, but the offensive line hasn't been as good as advertised - veterans like LT Bryant McKinnie and C John Sullivan may face stiff competition next season. The team also didn't upgrade their safeties last off-season, but may want to do so this year.
