Report: Wes Welker gets boot from Aspen party week before wedding

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

When you get married, you feel pretty invincible. After all, everything is culminating for a gigantic party to celebrate you. Maybe that's what Wes Welker was thinking (allegedly thinking?) when he reportedly got the boot from a party in Aspen, where he and friends are gathered for his wedding this weekend.

According to the New York Post, Welker and six friends "tussled with security when they tried to enter the Patron tequila-sponsored 'Summerology' event" on Friday night.

According to the Post report, Welker and his crew were on an "unofficial bachelor party" and showed up to the event, where they tried to "rush in without checking with party staffers." Apparently "security tried to subdue the group" and a little melee nearly erupted before they were reportedly "kicked off the property."

We know that Welker's excited about his wedding, because he tweeted as much. (He's also tweeted various party-related things throughout the weekend as well.)

We also know that Welker's in Aspen right now, because he's tweeting about it. In fact, on Tuesday morning (shortly after the Post report emerged), Welker tweeted about what a calm, relaxing early "to bed" time he's having out in Colorado.

Whatever happened it doesn't really matter that much. Aspen police told the Post that there was a record of a "lecture and a release" but wouldn't confirm that Welker was involved. So there's no actual record of any arrest and certainly no actual record of Welker getting in trouble.

All we see here is a guy enjoying a relaxing week before his wedding.
