Report: Rams sign CB Janoris Jenkins to four-year deal

When the Rams took Janoris Jenkins in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, it was a pretty big risk. It looked even riskier when the Rams reportedly ran into issues with both management of his finances and also "safeguards" in his contract.

But it appears a deal is finally done: Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Tuesday night that Jenkins and the Rams came to agreement on a four-year deal. Per Thomas, the deal is worth $5 million, with $3.1 million in guaranteed money.

In other words, it sounds like the Rams didn't get the safeguards they wanted; St. Louis reportedly wanted to pay out Jenkins bonus in pro-rated fashion over the course of the deal. Obviously that's not something that Jenkins (or his agent) wanted.

The cornerback, who was booted from Florida and finished his college career at North Alabama, has a history littered with red flags. But his game is what attracted teams in the draft: many believe that Jenkins could be the best cornerback in this draft class if he can keep his head on straight.
