Those of you who subscribe to Cablevision can rejoice: starting Friday, you'll finally get the NFL Network and the RedZone channel.
That's according to the NFL, which announced that the top cable provider in the top media market (that would be New York) had reached a multiyear agreement with the league's in-house channel (the NFL Network will be available on Channel 150; the RedZone is Channel 151).
“We know there is significant interest in the NFL Network and NFL RedZone among our Optimum TV customers, and are pleased to have worked productively with the NFL to offer both channels in time for the upcoming season, and for years to come,” said Mac Budill, Cablevision's executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.
Now, of all the major cable providers in this country, Time Warner Cable is the only one not to house the NFL Network. Which led Rich Eisen, NFL Network employee, to tweet this.
Time Warner Cable! This is NFL Network! We've got you surrounded! Come out of the house with your hands up!— Rich Eisen (@richeisen) August 16, 2012
