If the Browns want any hope of toppling the Eagles in their season opener on Sunday, they're definitely going to need rookie running back Trent Richardson ready to roll. Good news for Cleveland, then, as CBSSports.com's NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that Richardson made good progress throughout the week and, per a source with knowledge of the situation, is "ready to go" for Week 1.

Richardson, drafted third overall this spring, recently underwent "successful" arthroscopic knee surgery on his left knee and missed most of training camp and the preseason.

The Alabama product also had a scope done on the same knee prior to the combine, which caused him to miss the majority of workouts in Indianapolis.

Therefore, it's great news for the Browns that the running back is ready to roll. They invested a ton in Richardson and expected a strong early performance out of the running back.

More importantly, Cleveland badly needs T-Rich to be healthy if they want to take pressure off of quarterback (and fellow rookie) Brandon Weeden.

Expect Richardson to get plenty of runs against Philly in Cleveland on Sunday.
