Broncos DL Ty Warren tears triceps for second time in two years

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Soon after defensive lineman Ty Warren was cut by the Patriots in July 2010 after missing most of the previous year with a hip injury, he signed with the Broncos and promptly tore his triceps muscle and missed the entire 2011 season.

Now, after Warren played his third game overall since 2009 in Denver's win against the Steelers on Sunday night, Broncos coach John Fox announced Monday that Warren has re-torn that muscle. He is expected to miss the season.

With the news, you have to wonder if Warren will retire. He originally was scheduled to make $4 million this year, and the Broncos restructured his deal in June to give him a guaranteed $1.5 million. But before signing that, he wondered out loud if he wanted to go through the grind of another season.

He won't have to anymore. Instead, he'll have to go through the grind of rehab and decide whether this is it for him.
