Fred Jackson says he'll 'definitely' be back in four weeks, 'without a doubt'

For the Bills, nothing is coming up Milhouse. They got blown out by the Jets and in the process they lost running back Fred Jackson for at least a month and wide receiver David Nelson for the rest of the season.

But Jackson sounded more optimistic than most expected on Wednesday, saying he will "definitely" be back in four weeks and even left the door opener for an earlier return.

“Hopefully sooner, but I'll definitely be back in four weeks," Jackson said, via Chris Brown of "Without a doubt."'s Jason La Canfora reported Monday that the results of Jackson's MRI were "inconclusive" and that the team will keep monitoring the injury. Jackson said on Wednesday that he didn't suffer a tear, which is huge news for both him and the Bills.

"No tear. I'm good," he said. "Obviously I'm not where I want to be right now, but I feel good after looking at the film and then getting evaluated. So hopefully things happen sooner rather than later."

Jackson also confirmed La Canfora's report, saying he and team doctors would look at the injury and see how's he recovering in the next 7-10 days.

In the meantime, C.J. Spiller will look to build off his big (albeit somewhat meaningless) 169 rushing yards against the Jets. If he can keep his momentum from late last season and the first week of 2012 rolling, it's reasonable to expect that the first-round pick could seriously eat into Jackson's carries when he returns, even if that return is less than four weeks.
