Packers WR Greg Jennings doubtful for Thursday

With the Packers facing a short week after their season-opening loss to the 49ers, it looks like they'll go into their Thursday night game against the Bears without their top receiver.

That would be Greg Jennings, who injured his groin late in the fourth quarter vs. San Francisco and is listed as doubtful on the injury report.

On Tuesday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday would be a big day for Jennings to determine whether he'd be ready to go for Thursday night.

“His workout and his rehab went pretty good,” McCarthy told reporters Tuesday. “We're dealing with the groin; how he responds to it will be an endurance issue.”

Apparently, though, Wednesday didn't go so well with Jennings not practicing again.

McCarthy didn't talk to Jennings -- who also suffered a concussion Aug. 3 -- before addressing the media, but he said, “We'll see how the test (went). They put him through everything."

The fact that Jennings isn't listed as being out on the injury reoprt is a positive. But the fact he's doubtful means that the Packers (or the fantasy football players who employ Jennings) shouldn't feel too optimistic about his ability to perform.
