Back in May, we detailed the story of Brian Banks, the former high school star who was set to play at USC but then was imprisoned for five years after being convicted for a rape his accuser later said he didn't actually commit.
His goal was to play in the NFL, and he said at the time, “I can still do some things that will impress you."
Though he had a few preseason tryouts, he didn't make an NFL team, but that's OK at this point. As Banks tweeted today, he's got some good news. He's got a job playing pro football.
Good is good! I have decided to join the #UFL and the Las Vegas Loco's this year!— Brian Banks (@OK_Banks) September 18, 2012
If you were surprised that the UFL still exists, well, that makes two of us. Doesn't matter to Banks, though. His goal hasn't changed. Just his journey.
With all he's been through, there's only one thing to say: Good for you, Brian Banks.
