If Bears CB D.J. Moore could have babies, he 'would want Jay Cutler to be my baby father'

Following the Bears' loss to the Packers in Week 2, Smokin' Jay Cutler was the target of much criticism (and cigarette photoshopping), including a shot from teammate D.J. Moore, who called Cutler's behavior "just wrong."

It was a surprising shot from Moore -- who, like Cutler, played college ball at Vanderbilt -- even if it was accurate. Moore wants everyone to know that it's not personal, though, and had offered up an, um, interesting compliment for Cutler on a pregame radio show in Chicago Sunday.

“If I could have babies I would want Jay Cutler to be my baby father,” Moore said, per NBC Chicago's Peggy Kusinski, by way of PFT's Josh Alper.

There's a whole lot about this that doesn't even begin to make conceptual sense. But in order to remain safe-for-work, we won't go there.

Instead, we'll point out that what Moore's trying to say, and it's something he emphasized in the interview as well, is that the Bears locker room isn't the chemistry trainwreck that it looks like from the outside.

Cutler's antics on Thursday, including a shove of teammate J'Marcus Webb, shouting at Webb and general pouting, were a problem, especially if you buy into the idea that a quarterback should have intangibles like "leadership."

But at the same time, these sort of things can quickly get blown out of proportion and generate the idea that the Bears are in an emotional freefall. Moore's comments are a good reminder that things aren't always as bad as they look from the microscopic point of view that is the outside world.

That doesn't mean Cutler will stop being susceptible to throwing picks, pouting and burning heaters, though.
