Reggie Bush says he got 'great news' Monday; no major injury believed for RB

Reggie Bush's transformation into a "real" running back over the past year or so has been borderline amazing, which is why it was so terrifying to see Bush grab his knee against the Jets on Sunday. Fortunately, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Dolphins don't believe Bush suffered a major injury.

A league source tells La Canfora that Bush might need some time to rest his knee, but the injury isn't believed to be serious.

This jibes with what Bush tweeted on Monday morning, telling the world that he got some "great news."

If Bush avoided a serious injury, it's a huge break for the Dolphins. He's been their best player, bar none, and it was clear that their offense stalled out when Bush was forced out of the game.

NFL Week 3 Wrap-up

There's an odd twist to Bush's injury, though. Before the game, Rex Ryan said the Jets wanted to "put some hot sauce on" Bush, which means put some big licks on the back.

But it's more disturbing in the context of what Jets linebacker Calvin Pace said after the game with respect to getting big hits on Bush.

"I guess he was doing his thing for a quarter or two,” Pace said, per the New York Daily News. “We had to put him on out. We didn't see him again."

Fortunately for Pace, the play that injured Bush didn't involve any dirty work or big hits. And that's why Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that the league won't investigate Pace's comments in light of Bush's injury.

Even more fortunately, Bush appears to be on the road to recovery and shouldn't miss a substantial amount of time.
