In April, the Packers released three-time Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins, who had suffered a herniated disk in Week 2 of the 2011 season and had undergone cervical fusion surgery.

Though Collins has continued trying to play, his agent, Alan Herman, has told's Jason La Canfora that the 29-year-old's neck problems most likely will lead him to retire.

La Canfora writes Collins was considering a return to the game and was training regularly at IMG Academy in Florida. “However, at a recent evaluation with the specialist who performed his neck surgery,” La Canfora writes, “Collins was advised not to pursue football … effectively ending the process.”

If Collins' seven-year career really is over, he'll have finished with 21 career interceptions (four of which were returned for touchdowns).
