Jake Locker suffers left shoulder injury, Matt Hasselbeck takes over

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Jake Locker was coming off a monster game against the Lions in Week 3, having thrown for 378 yards and two touchdowns. But the Texans are not the Lions, and their defense is much scarier and capable of doing bad things to quarterbacks.

That's how Locker ended up suffering a shoulder injury that likely keeps him from playing the rest of the day, as Quin Glover absolutely rocked the second-year quarterback, blitzing off the edge and tattooing Locker.

Locker lay on the ground, grimacing and shouting in pain. He was taken off the field and underwent X-rays after going just 0-for-2, and he was replaced by Matt Hasselbeck. Locker returned to the sideline, and the Titans announced that he suffered a shoulder injury and was questionable to return.

It seems likely, given the hit and Locker's previously separated left shoulder, that he's dealing with a separated left shoulder. But we won't know for sure until the Titans announce it. Either way, expect Hasselbeck to shoulder the load the rest of the day against the Texans.
