Chargers backup RB Ryan Mathews soars through the air

For the past two games, Chargers running back Ryan Mathews has lost his starting job to Jackie Battle. But late in the third quarter of Sunday night's Chargers-Saints game, Mathews had rushed 11 times for 78 yards, while Battle had recorded just 10 yards on four carries.

Oh, and Mathews did this (via SB Nation).

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised when Mathews is the one starting for the Chargers next week. Unless Norv Turner brilliantly has deduced that starting Battle makes Mathews a better player who can fly through the air at will.
