Fox Sports' Jay Glazer said on Fox NFL Sunday that Griffin actually didn't miss any practice reps this week and that he would, in fact, start the game Sunday. But Glazer also reported that the Redskins are facing a “hefty fine” -- possibly $25,000 or more -- for the way they handled the quarterback's concussion last Sunday.
After Griffin was smacked by Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, the Redskins announced to the media that Griffin was shaken up and mentioned nothing about a concussion or a head injury. Glazer said failing to disclose the possible concussion allowed Washington some wiggle room if the team wanted to put Griffin back in the game.
Reportedly, the NFL was not pleased by that designation.
Glazer also said that on Wednesday, Griffin gathered his entire team around him on the practice field and apologized “for putting himself in harm's way.” He told the team he would adjust the way he plays so he wouldn't repeat last week's injury.
Otherwise, Griffin said he's fine after not knowing the quarter or score following the Weatherspoon hit.
“Practice went good,” Griffin said Wednesday. “I felt sharp. I felt good. No symptoms of a concussion or anything like that. No dizziness or off-balance or things of that nature. I feel good.”
