Former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens appeared in a Kirkland, Wash., court Tuesday after he was arrested early Monday morning in a domestic violence case involving his purported girlfriend, U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Hope Solo. The judge quickly released Stevens after he deemed there was "zero" evidence that Stevens had assaulted anyone.

Solo, who was also in the courtroom, said through her attorney that she had not been assaulted.

According to court documents (via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer), Stevens was arrested after police were called to a house about an altercation in which Solo's brother, Marcus, had used a stun gun.

More via PI:

According to the report, 34-year-old Marcus Solo was the one who called police Monday. After officers talked to him outside the house, Hope Solo emerged from the home with blood on her elbow. She was not very cooperative with the police, at one point yelling to her brother, "Don't say anything to them, Marcus," according to the police report.

The report also stated that Stevens and Solo were to be married Tuesday and that they had argued about whether they would live in Washington or Florida.

Stevens has had previous run-ins with authorities. Most recently he was accused of attacking two bouncers at a Tampa, Fla., bar in March 2011, and in 2007 he was convicted of drunk driving in Arizona. While in college at Washington in 2000, Stevens drove his vehicle into a nursing home.

Stevens' attorney, Todd Maybrown, argued Tuesday that his client's criminal record shouldn't have any bearing in the new case.

The former Seahawks first-round pick played nine NFL seasons, the final four with the Buccaneers. He had 202 career receptions and 22 touchdowns.
