He even tweeted that, “This issue will be resolved soon and the truth will come out. Not worried.”
On Monday night, USA Today reported that Sherman is claiming that the reason the performance-enhancing drug was found in his body was because he drank from the bottle of a teammate who had already sprinkled a crushed Adderall pill into it. The anonymous source told the paper that the teammate had a waiver from the league that allows him to take Adderall legally.
Sherman, though, has denied the story to KRJ Radio reporter Curtis Crabtree.
"It's totally false,” Sherman texted to Crabtree.
As for Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner, who also has been suspended four games, another source told USA Today that Browner is claiming that his urine sample was tampered with and that he saw the tester pour urine from one container into another.
When USA Today's Mike Garafolo asked Kevin Poston, Sherman's agent, about the theory of accidental ingestion, Poston said, “What appears is not always the case. Hopefully, when the facts come out, justice will prevail."
