Ravens' Terrell Suggs ruled out for Redskins game Sunday

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Terrell Suggs wanted to play against the Redskins on Sunday and was expected to use warmups as a gauge for whether he could suit up. Unfortunately for Baltimore, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year won't make it on the field.

Albert Breer of NFL Network first reported Suggs will be ruled out by the Ravens for Sunday's game, and the team made it official on Sunday.

Suggs missed the first six games of the season, but the Ravens still managed to go 5-1. Since his return, they're 4-2, though clearly getting Suggs on the field helps their ability to rush the passer.

This will be Baltimore's first game of the year without both Ray Lewis and Suggs, and it comes against a dangerous offense run by Robert Griffin III. And, actually, it's the first game during Suggs' career upon entering the NFL in 2003 that the Ravens will be without both Lewis and Suggs.
