Paying tribute to the 26 victims who were killed in Friday's school shooting in Newtown, Conn., three of the NFL franchises situated closest to the area are planning to honor those who died.

Here's a sample of what's planned.

  • The NFL, via spokesman Greg Aiello, will offer a moment of silence before each of the Week 15 games to be played Sunday.
  • The Giants will wear a decal on their helmets (see to the right) that honors the memories of those who were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary school.
  • Via NFL.com, the Jets also will wear a decal on their helmets.
  • Via the NFL Network's Rich Eisen, the Patriots will play with the decal seen below and will send up 26 flares to the sky to honor those who died.
This is what New England will wear Sunday. (Twitter.com/richeisen)
