Redskins linebacker London Fletcher is from Cleveland, so he was understandably excited to return to his hometown Sunday to face the Browns. And although Washington won convincingly, it wasn't all good news for Fletcher, who said Monday that Browns' security assaulted his family members in attendance while fans harassed them.

"I'm from Cleveland," Fletcher said Monday morning during an appearance on NFL AM. "I know Browns fans. They're rabid fans, and they love their team. But I guess in the stadium, [my family was] being harassed. The situation that led to people being arrested was stadium security. One of the stadium security guys assaulted one of my family members. So instead of diffusing the situation, he escalated the situation."

According to the Associated Press, a Cleveland Police Department report blamed the incident on fans who had been arrested, noting that a security official was punched and knocked to the ground while escorting an unruly patron from Cleveland Stadium.

“Really, what led to the ruckus was something that happened with stadium security -- where they're supposed to diffuse the situation, they were more instigators or they didn't diffuse the situation,” Fletcher said via the AP. “It wasn't even with the fans at that point in time. I think one of the stadium workers, I don't know, he went overboard with what his job responsibilities were.”

Fletcher said four of his relatives were still in custody as of Monday afternoon.

ESPN reports that Tenable Protective Services coordinates security at Cleveland Stadium, and a Browns spokesperson said the team is still investigating the incident.

"We are still in the process of collecting all of the information regarding the incident from the various security groups who work the games, including Cleveland Police and Tenable," the spokesperson said.

"It was an unfortunate situation," Flecther said. "Put a damper on an otherwise great homecoming, being able to get a win and things like that. It was definitely not a good finish to the game."
