Although the Redskins fooled us last week, dropping hints that Robert Griffin III would start against the Browns, coach Mike Shanahan officially named Kirk Cousins the starter on Saturday and then didn't activate Griffin on Sunday.
Now, Shanahan is being slightly more ambitious, telling reporters Wednesday that, barring any setbacks, Griffin will start this week against the Eagles.
You'll recall that Griffin didn't play last week because of a sprained knee he suffered taking a hellacious shot from Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata two weeks ago. But Griffin said last week he was continuing to gain confidence in his knee, and he reportedly wanted to play against the Browns.
Instead, the Redskins gave Cousins the start and went on to beat Cleveland 38-21.
