With the Jaguars already having fired general manager Gene Smith on Monday, coach Mike Mularkey, who just finished his first season in the job, was asked during his Monday press conference about his job.
So far, he still has it.

Mularkey met with team owner Shad Khan on Monday, and Mularkey wasn't told that he wasn't keeping his job (if that makes any sense at all). "If that's an assurance," he told reporters, "I'll take it."
So, Mularkey is continuing on like normal, though his job probably won't be made easier when the team brings in a new general manager -- a general manager who didn't hire the head coach and might eventually want to bring in his own man.
Mularkey, though, said he plans to meet with his players on Monday and begin evaluations next week.
"We are close," he said. "We are closer than people think."
