When the rumors were swirling that Andy Reid would end up with Cardinals, it looked like a pretty big get for the NFL, with Arizona slated to play in Philadelphia in 2013. But Reid is going to Kansas City instead, which still works out well for the league.
That's because the Chiefs are also scheduled to play against the Eagles in Philadelphia next season. (Oddly, all three teams Reid was rumored to have interest in coaching -- the Cardinals, Chargers and Chiefs -- will play in Philly next season. Well done, NFL. Well done.)
We detailed the full breakdown of the 2013 NFL regular-season opponents release here, but the news that Reid is being hired by the Chiefs makes it worth revisiting.
It's as yet unknown when Reid will return to Philadelphia, and we don't even know who will be coaching the Eagles yet. But this is a good possibility for a primetime game.
Reid was the longest-tenured coach in the NFL when Philadelphia fired him. As successful as he was with the Eagles, he's a controversial figure for Philly folks.
The "Will Andy Reid Get Booed in His Return to Philadelphia?" debate would rage for about 10 seconds before everyone realized the answer was yes.
The only question now is when Eagles fans will be able to finally boo Andy Reid when he's on someone else's team.
