Numerous sources told CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora last week that Falcons executive Dave Caldwell was well-positioned to be named the next Jaguars general manager. Now, the deal, according to La Canfora, is done.
This, from Caldwell's agent, as well.
Congrats to client Dave Caldwell on reaching an agreement in principle with Jacksonville to become their next General Manager.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported earlier Tuesday that Caldwell and the Jacksonville franchise were trying to come to terms on a contract.
La Canfora also writes he wouldn't be surprised if Caldwell hires 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman as the head coach.
Obviously, that wouldn't be good news for current Jacksonville coach Mike Mularkey -- who's still on the bubble after a 2-14 year, his only season as the Jaguars head coach. With the hiring of Caldwell, it's expected that Mularkey will be out of a job soon.
