Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning shared a moment late Saturday

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Two all-time NFL greats went head-to-head Saturday, with Ray Lewis and his Ravens "besting" Peyton Manning and the Broncos in double overtime, 38-35 in Denver.

Afterwards, the two men, both mortal locks as first-ballot Hall of Famers, shared a moment in the visitors' locker room, as captured by Ravens PR man Chad Steele.

Per Steele, the moment occurred 90 minutes after the end of the game, a stunning victory by the Ravens following a surprising interception thrown by Manning, his last throw of the 2012 season.

Manning apparently waited for Lewis to finish speaking with reporters to get a moment with the legendary linebacker who announced he'd be retiring following this postseason.

The battle between offense and defense is a physical and mental one waged on the football field. In the quiet of the locker room afterward, though, it's fascinating to see two of the greats respect each other the way Manning and Lewis clearly do.
