Lions WR Titus Young continues Twitter tirade

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

At some point, you'd think somebody somewhere would get to Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young and tell him to stop the tweeting, because he keeps getting himself into more trouble. But the problem in this case is it appears Young doesn't care about the consequences and would rather be cut by his team than try to improve relations.

A few days ago, Young tweeted that he has never been selfish “but if I'm not going to get the football i don't want to play anymore.” Hey, credit to the guy who knows exactly what he wants. Even if that guy has been nothing but an appalling teammate to others in the Detroit locker room.

On Friday, he continued his Twitter tirade and actually made reference to the Lions cutting him, leading us to wonder whether he wants this to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

(For what it's worth, I did enjoy the hashtag in that last post.)

Anyway, what else is there to say about a guy who sucker-punches teammates and who purposely lines up in the wrong spots and then spews vitriol on Twitter?

“There are good ways to go about getting [a conversation with the team] and not-so-good ways about trying to get that done," coach Jim Schwartz said this week at the Senior Bowl. "This is a pretty good example [of] a not-so-good way."

And it stands to reason that Young is awfully close to ending his career in Detroit. Which, at this point, is probably best for all parties involved.
