Report: Dustin Keller taking physical with Dolphins

By Larry Hartstein |

Free-agent tight end Dustin Keller is getting a physical with the Dolphins and appears poised to join a receiving corps that already includes Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline.

Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero first reported the news. Keller, who spent his first five seasons with the Jets, played just eight games last season after suffering a high ankle sprain. In 2011 he caught 65 balls for 815 yards and five touchdowns.

He's a more dynamic receiver than Miami's 2012 starter, Anthony Fasano, who signed with Kansas City.

Salguero reported that if Keller passes his physical, the Dolphins and Keller's agent will talk contract terms. Miami began pursuing Keller after losing out on Jared Cook, who got $19 million guaranteed from the Rams.

The Jets wanted Keller back but could not afford him due to their cap situation.
