Obomanu's career has been productive, considering he was the seventh-to-last pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, when the Seahawks made him the 249th overall selection. Obomanu went over 400 yards receiving in 2010 and 2011 but was limited to four catches for 58 yards in 2012. He'll finish his Seahawks career with 1,209 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Obomanu was headed into the final year of a three-year deal that was to pay him $2.3 million in base salary next season, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. The Seahawks will save about $2.5 million in cap space by releasing him.
