On Friday, Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson told reporters that he had talked to Chad Johnsonabout the two playing together in Houston. The former is a six-time Pro Bowler; the latter was released by the Dolphins last August after he was arrested for domestic violence.

Unfortunately, Andre doesn't make personnel decisions. But whether it's with the Texans or elsewhere, Chad's just looking for another opportunity.

"I'd love to get a second chance in the game that I love," he told CSN Houston recently. "That was taken away from me, I've learned my lesson, it's really in God's hands and we'll see what happens."

After becoming one of the league's best receivers during his 10-year Bengals career, Johnson stumbled to just 15 catches and one touchdown during his 2011 stint with the Patriots. He was cut last offseason, caught on with the Dolphins over the summer and was out of a job a few months later after allegedly head-butting his wife.

"You know, I'm in no position to be picky," Johnson said about possible future opportunities. "There aren't very many people who get second chances. For me, I think I've been very good to the NFL and for the NFL over a number of years, making the game fun and exciting.

"But I did mess up, you know, I messed up once. … I made my bed and have to lay in it. Some people are given second chances; some people aren't. I think at this point I've learned my lesson. … I'm trying to right all my wrongs and finally, it reflects that I am human."

This ultimately comes down to one thing: do Johnson's skills outweigh all the other stuff? It doesn't help that he's 35 and, in his last meaningful action, could only muster 15 catches in one of the league's most explosive offenses. If Johnson can't be productive with Tom Brady throwing him passes, what are the odds it'll happens somewhere else?
