White, a free agent who hasn't played in the league since '09, is drumming up some interest based on his ability to run the read-option. He was a dazzling dual-threat quarterback during his college days at West Virginia, though his rookie season with the Dolphins was largely disastrous.
The Giants are in a fine position at quarterback, with Eli Manning and David Carr atop their depth chart. But White's ability to run -- and, thus, simulate the likes of Robert Griffin III and Colin Kaepernick -- makes him a valuable asset on the scout team, at the very least.
Niners coach Jim Harbaugh was reportedly interested in White, but the fact the quarterback got out of town and set up another visit doesn't bode well for White's chances in San Francisco.
White, a second-round pick of the Dolphins in 2009, was released prior to the 2010 season after failing to complete a pass in Miami.
