The Jacksonville Jaguars have released defensive tackle C.J. Mosley, the team announced Monday. Mosley appeared in all 16 games last season, starting 12.

Mosley, 30, had two years remaining on a three-year, $7.5 million contract.

In three seasons with Jacksonville, Mosley had 3.5 sacks and 70 tackles. Last season was his best by far, compiling 45 tackles -- almost twice his previous season high.

Mosley was a sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2005, and has also played for the Browns and Jets in his nine-year career.

With the release of Mosley, the Jags are left with Tyson Alualu, Roy Miller, Jeris Pendleton, D'Anthony Smith and Jerome Long as remaining defensive tackles on the roster.
