The Saints have filled their backup quarterback void by signing career backup quarterback Luke McCown, the team announced on Monday. New Orleans has some familiarity with McCown, the veteran quarterback went to training camp with the team last season, before being cut in August.

The Saints have been thin at quarterback since mid-March when last season's backup, Chase Daniel, signed with Kansas City. Daniel's departure left starter Drew Brees as the only quarterback on the roster.

If you follow the NFC South or football in general, you may have heard McCown's name before: The veteran quarterback played for the Falcons last season and also spent four years in Tampa Bay (2005-08). McCown's also spent time in Cleveland (2004) and Jacksonville (2009-11).

If you thought McCown signed with the Bears last week, you're half-correct: Luke's brother Josh agreed to terms with Chicago on Friday. Between them, the two brothers have spent 19 seasons in the NFL and played for nine teams.

The Saints also officially announced the signing of veteran defensive end Kenyon Coleman. Coleman and the team agreed to terms on Saturday
