Redskins re-sign QB Rex Grossman

Despite reportedly agreeing to terms with Pat White, the Redskins have re-signed Rex Grossman for another year.

Grossman, 32, did not throw a pass last season as the No. 3 quarterback behind Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins.

It appears Grossman will compete with White for that role this year. White also is expected to sign Wednesday.

It sounds hard to believe, and Redskins fans will cringe at the memory, but Grossman entered the 2011 season as the starter. He completed 57.9 percent of his throws, with 20 interceptions, five lost fumbles and 16 touchdowns. Washington went 5-8 in his starts.

Grossman spent his first six years in Chicago, reaching the Super Bowl following the 2006 season. This would be his fourth season in Washington.
