There are any number of ways for fans to show their allegiance to the hometown team. Jerseys are probably the most popular, but clothes are fleeting. Tattoos, however, last a lifetime. And for one enterprising Dolphins supporter, that means being the first person in the galaxy to get the team's new logo.
Please meet Wilfredo Bueiz, a season ticket holder since 2008 who redefines unconditional love.
"I wanted to be the first one," he told NBC Miami. "I actually had the appointment with the tattoo artist the very next day it was going to be released. Then all of the sudden it got leaked."
So now Bueiz has two Dolphins-themed tats -- the previous iteration on one forearm and the new logo on the other.
When asked if he hoped the Dolphins would cover the tattoo that's expected to cost around $150, Bueiz said, "I hope so. Maybe Mr. Ross will pick up the bill."
We can just see owner Stephen Ross going through his offseason to-do list: "Mike Wallace, $60 million; Dannell Ellerbe, $34.7 million; Philip Wheeler, $26 million; Brent Grimes, $5.5 million; and Wilfredo Bueiz, 150 bucks. Yep, everything appears to be in order. Next stop: SUPER BOWL."
No word on if Bueiz knows this guy (or if Ross offered to pay for it).
