Report: James Harrison to visit Bengals

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Could Harrison play in Cincinnati? (USATSI)
Could James Harrison play in Cincinnati? (USATSI)

After releasing linebacker James Harrison last month, it seems quite clear that the Steelers have no interest in bringing back the five-time Pro Bowler who will turn 35 next month, especially at a $6.57 million price tag for 2013.

So, where will Harrison turn next in a market that seemingly doesn't have much interest in him? How about one of the Steelers biggest rivals?

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, Harrison is visiting the Bengals on Thursday in an attempt to continue on with his decade-long career.

Harrison reportedly had planned to meet with the Ravens, but instead, they signed Elvis Dumervil. Reedy writes the Bengals already this week have met with free-agent linebackers Akeem Jordan and Karlos Dansby.

Either way, Cincinnati needs to fill the linebacker spot vacated by Manny Lawson, who has signed with the Bills.

But would a potential Harrison signing actually make sense for Cincinnati? Perhaps.
