The Saints have placed a second-round tender on Ivory -- meaning the Jets would have to give up that pick if they were to sign Ivory -- but reports are the Jets and Saints are trying to work out a trade for a pick later in the draft.
Ivory, 25, reportedly met with the Jets Friday.
In his three-year career, Ivory has struggled to get on the field much due to a crowded backfield in New Orleans. Appearing in 24 games, Ivory has 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Saints backfield remains busy, while the Jets have a vacancy due to the departure of former starter Shonn Greene. It sounds as if the Jets want to get a deal done, though -- with several holes in their roster as is -- they seem reluctant to part with a second-round pick.
