NFL Draft: Titans select Chance Warmack with 10th pick

With the 10th pick in the first round, the Titans selected guard Chance Warmack out of Alabama.

Considered one of the best players in the 2013 draft, Warmack will be a plug-and-play starter for the next decade, and he fills an immediate need along the interior line for Tennessee.

While guard typically isn't considered a sexy pick, the team that controls the line of scrimmage usually has the best chance to win. Warmack, at 6 feet 2 and 317 pounds, provides that ability, though there were concerns heading into the draft that he could slip out of the first round altogether after he performed poorly in workouts.

Nick Saban, Warmack's coach at Alabama, had no such reservations, however.

''I just think that Chance has a unique skill set and he's got really good size,'' Saban said earlier this spring. ''He's very powerful, he's athletic, he's got good feet, he can pass-block and he can get moving in the run game. I think people that have his kind of balance and body control and the kind of athleticism that he has at his size are rare commodities. Everybody knows that those guys play 12, 14, 15 years. I think Chance has a chance to have that kind of career.''

And think Chris Johnson is happy about the pick?

It would appear so.
