George Jones was cousins with Cardinals special teams coach

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

The country music world lost an icon on Friday when George Jones died at the age of 81 in Nashville, Tenn.

Jones had been hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for fever and irregular blood pressure, and you can read his entire obituary here.

Interestingly enough, Jones had a link to the NFL world, as the Cardinals PR staff pointed out. John Lott, Arizona's strength and conditioning coach, and Jones were cousins. Last year in Nashville, the two posed for this picture.

Jones also apparently made other friends while living in middle Tennessee.
